Handmade Memories from Cindy Ritter

These cute photos of our grandson James wearing some of the cardigans I knitted for him were taken when he was six months old. I also knitted the monogrammed ball and the ladybird for him to play with as well as the sweet daffodil. My layout was created using the HANDMADE MEMORIES BUFFET KIT. Today is the last day that you can buy the kit at 50% off.

Here are the kit previews.

Please sign up for Cindy's NEWSLETTER for news of her creations and freebies. Here is what was in this week's newsletter.

I also used Cindy's TOGETHER AGAIN TEMPLATES.

That's all for now. I'll be back soon with some Christmas layouts.

God Bless from Leigh Penrod Digital Designs

Just look at this cute layout I made using GOD BLESS from Leigh Penrod Digital Designs.

The photos are of my grandson Tyler celebrating his first birthday by using his cot as a ball pool. He had a great time.

Here are the kit previews:

I also used the FRAME IT UP LARGE Templates from Brenian Designs.

We had a lovely holiday on the Isle of Wight at the beginning of the month. My grandson James really enjoyed his first ride on a Steam Train.

James is 20 months old now - I can't believe that he was ever this small. Here he is wearing the first little cardigan I knitted for him. Look how much the sleeves had to be rolled up!!

http://berryapplicious.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&manufacturers_id=44
http://scrapbird.com/designers-c-73/a-c-c-73_514/country-livs-graphics-c-73_514_351/clgraphics-sweet-spring-bundle-p-16148.html

You can find the previews in the previous post on my blog.

I also used the TUCKED IN Templates by Brenian Designs which you can find in her store at Go Digital Scrapbooking::

http://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_dnld_info&cPath=29&products_id=23924

My layout uses the first template in the pack and a beautiful photo taken by my husband. He really does takes such lovely photos of our garden.

My daughter has been knitting away and has finished a pram blanket for James:

She used some really soft double knitting yarn that she got from Hobbycraft. It is the Women's Institute Yarn in grey and teal. The photo does not do it justice. You can get a better idea of the colours from these links:

I've been busy as well and finished a cardigan for James:

It won't fit him for a few months but I am sure that he will look lovely in it.

http://scrapbird.com/designers-c-73/a-c-c-73_514/country-livs-graphics-c-73_514_351/

If you would like to buy both kits then you will save yourself some money as you can get them as a package for $6.00:

I thought that the kits were just right to showcase this wonderful photo of my daughter Susan and her son James:

I used a tape that is in the kit to make the frame and the stitching on the heart button is cut from the string.

Susan has been busy knitting and she is so proud of the lovely blanket that she made for James:

I made another cardigan for James and he looks so cute wearing it. It has Paddington Bear buttons.

Oh, and I forgot to show you the card I made for Natalie's birthday last month. I used a kit that came with a cardmaking magazine and I just loved the colours:

Well, that is it for today. I will be back soon with more layouts.

James - Welcome to the World

Well, James is here. He was born on Sunday 2nd November and weighed in at 6lbs 6oz. On Monday, once the hospital were satisfied that everything was okay with both Susan and James, they were discharged and came home. Susan was so pleased to get home to familiar surroundings. Here is one of the first photos taken at the hospital. That little babygrow is for up to one month and it is so big on him that we had to go out and get him some in the 'new baby' size. I am sure that it will be quite a while before he can wear the cardigans I have made for him:

Chilling with Grandad:

He is doing really well and taking his feeds with no trouble. Just doesn't like being exposed when he is having his nappy changed!! He had his five day check up and only lost 6oz so they were very pleased with him.

I did manage to get another cardigan finished and am working on a v-neck one at the moment.

I am so pleased that we live close by so that we can see Susan, Ian and James every day.

I hope to be able to show you some more photos soon and to work on some layouts of James.

Watch this space.

'Our Boy' by Country Liv's Graphics

It was my friend Liv's birthday a couple of weeks ago and I used her kit 'Our Boy' to make a layout as a birthday present for her:

Here are the kit previews together with close-up details:

You can find the kit in all of Liv’s stores here:

I haven't had much time for scrapping lately as I have been busy knitting for James. I have made three more cardigans. I made a dark blue one using the same pattern as I used for the maroon one. The buttons on this cardigan are 'Thomas the Tank Engine' ones with the engine James on them. Susan and Ian were so pleased when we showed them the buttons:

:

Here are the photos of the other two, one in mid blue and the other in grey yarn:

Not long now until 8 November when James is due to be born but you know babies - they come when they are ready and not always on the due date!!

'Musical Atttitude' by PattyB Scraps

I made a layout using ‘Musical Attitude’ by PattyB Scraps which you can find in store here:

Soon at My Memories: http://bit.ly/pbs_MM

Here is the preview:

For my layout I used another of my favourite photos from Susan and Ian's wedding and as soon as I put it on this wonderful paper I knew what the title would be:

They are always laughing together and this bodes for a very happy marriage. I can't wait until their new little son joins them to make their happiness complete.

I finished another of my little cardigans for James at the weekend using the same pattern as the other blue one I made. This time we found some cute little toggle buttons to use. Aren't they cute.

I will be back soon with some more layouts and perhaps another little cardigan.

‘Ocean Waves’ Kit and Clusters by Happy Scrap Arts

Back in July I was lucky enough to win a 'Ho Ho Ho' contest on the My Memories Facebook Page.

I received a voucher to spend in Happy Scrap Arts' store and I chose the ‘Ocean Waves’ Kit and Clusters which you can find here:

http://www.mymemories.com/store/display_product_page?id=EDHS-CP-1406-61381

Here are the previews:

I made two layouts using 'Ocean Waves'. The first uses photos taken during our holiday on the Isle of Wight in July:

The second layout has photos taken when my daughter Susan and her husband Ian were on a Dolphin Experience at Discovery Cove in Florida. They had a fabulous time getting up close and personal with the dolphins:

You can find the Blog and Facebook Fan Page for Happy Scrap Arts here:

I have been busy knitting for the last couple of weeks. Susan and Ian are expecting their first baby, who they are calling James, at the beginning of November and they asked if I could knit some little cardigans for him. Here are the photos of the first two that I have finished:

It is quite some time since I got out my knitting needles and I was so pleased with how the cardigans turned out. I just love the little teddy buttons on the blue one and the grey one has faux leather buttons. So cute.
