Hi everybody. Long time no blog. I have been suffering from the after effects of a very heavy cold and this led to a 10 day bout of vertigo. Keep your fingers crossed but I think my medication has finally worked.

I made a second layout using the By the Sea Scrapkit by K-Joi Studios which is available in her shop at Moo Two Designs. Tyler was having so much fun at Ruislip Lido playing in the sprinklers with the other children.

I have been a member of Hummie's World for some time now and love joining in with the Activities in the Forum. This week is Hat Week and we have been changing our avatars and doing layouts based on hats.

I made this layout after using the photo of my Mum in her hat as my new avatar. The layout is of my Mum and Dad's wedding on 1 December 1945.

The papers I used were from a pack of papers I made for Hummie's Go Green Challenge. I recoloured the papers to go with the irises in the layout and I also recoloured the beautiful cluster border (made by Lorraine using Netta Riss 'Fascinate' kit - Creative Victorian Designs).

Here is a closer look at the original photo. My Mum was only 4ft 10in and my dad was 6ft tall so he had to sit down in the photo.

Don't they make a wonderful  couple. I miss them so much. I often find myself reaching for the phone to talk to Mum about recipes and I can still see Dad sitting in his favourite armchair in our Sitting Room.

Here a couple of layouts I made using a wonderful photo of Mum when she was about 19.

The wording on the second layout reads:

Mum. Even though you are no longer with us you are still in my heart and my thoughts. I still want to pick up the telephone and talk to you when I find a new recipe. You just loved cooking and making dinner for me and all my friends even when they just popped in with no notice. You always made enough to feed the whole street.

Been busy working on a couple of layouts. The first one is using the Moo Two Designs Sugar Rush Collaboration.

This is my fourth layout using Sugar Rush and I made it with the assistance of my grandson Tyler.

Tyler was sitting on my lap while I was working on the layout and I asked him what sweets he wanted me to put on the layout. He loved the gummie worms and the allsorts and then wanted me to put on the jelly beans. He was actually eating some Haribo gold bears at the time and wondered why he didn't have any blue ones. When I told him what the words said on the layout he said 'What happens when he turns the handle' and so I put the gumballs coming out of the machine. He thinks the layout is really funny.

Kara of K Joi Studios has asked me to be on her Creative Team and invited me to choose a kit to work with and I knew just the photo to use when I chose this particular kit.. My second layout is made using a kit by K Joi Studios called By the Sea Scrapkit which you can buy here at Moo Two Designs.

Kara has only recently joined the Moo Two Design Team after taking over a year out from designing and I am looking forward to seeing all her new kits. The By the Sea Scrapkit contains lots of fuzzy felt items and I used the whale and the starfish to write the title of my layout. I just love the wave borders in the kit as well.

The journalling reads "It was a lovely holiday when Tyler went with Mummy and Daddy to the Canaries for a week. Nanny and Grandad came as well. Tyler really enjoyed playing the the pool with Mummy. He loved all the floating toys that were in the pool".

They all had a really wonderful time that holiday.

My friend Liv of Country Liv's Graphics sent me some wonderful photos of her grandchildren making a Gingerbread House. I used two of these photos to make a layout with the Sugar Rush Collaboration from Moo Two Designs.

Liv has some wonderful freebies on her Blog.

Here is a picture of her latest freebie, a wonderful Halloween overlay.

While you are visiting her blog make sure you sign up for her newsletter. There is a form to complete at the top right of her blog page. She gave away Scary Jack in her latest edition. This will probably be in the next issue as she usually gives you a couple of opportunities to get her newsletter freebies.

I'll be back with some layouts featuring Tyler and I will be making some more layouts soon featuring him and his brother Corey.

I made another layout with the Moo Two Sugar Rush Collaboration.

I also promised to let you see some layouts I did of  Tyler when he was little.

Well, it's getting late, so I'll say goodnight now.

Tuesday 2 October 2012

I made a layout using the Retro Summer kit and the Retro Summer add-on by Country Liv's Graphics. You can find the kit in her store here. The lovely young lady in the photo is my daughter-in-law Charlie.

I also made a layout using the October Sugar Rush Collaboration from Moo Two Designs which you can find in store until the end of October for the special price of only $6.

The photo is of my son Richard together with my grandson Tyler taken just a couple of weeks after he came home from hospital.

I have another freebie for you today. I made a kit for the Scrapping Fairytales September Create a Fairytale Design Challenge. Here are the previews of the kit.

Make sure you grab both links to get the full kit:

Please make sure to read my TOU (Terms of Use) for details of the designers whose creations I use in the making of my freebie kits. Jodiann, Brenda and Sugarbutt and all the others mentioned in my TOU are really generous designers giving away such wonderful freebies on their blogs, facebook pages and their stores.

I would love to have your comments on the kit.
